Orkla Food Ingredients announced that its subsidiary, Credin Group, has completed the previously announced acquisition of Eurohansa Toruń, a Polish producer of fruit fillings and preparations.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, announced in November last year, Credin Polska (Credin Poland), through its subsidiary Credin Polska Development, purchased the Eurohansa brand and all assets related to the Toruń site.

The acquisition also includes the Eurohansa Toruń operations from the current owner.

In November, Credin Poland CEO Alina Niewelt said: “Eurohansa Toruń has over the years established themselves as a leading production platform of fruit fillings with strong product competence.

“This acquisition will complement our existing production of dry products and thus strengthen the offering towards our customers.”

Eurohansa operates two sites in Toruń and Pulawy, Poland. However, the Pulawy site will remain under its current ownership.

Eurohansa Toruń employs 89 people and specialises in producing fruit fillings and preparations for the dairy, chocolate, and bakery industries.

Credin Poland, established in 1995, is part of the Credin Group and a subsidiary of Orkla Food Ingredients (OFI).

Since its founding, Credin Poland has expanded its presence in the Polish market, mainly through its production of bakery ingredients. The acquisition of Eurohansa Toruń will enhance Credin Poland’s expertise in fruit fillings and preparations.

The company has several production plants across Europe, including in Denmark, Portugal, Sweden and Poland.

It has developed expertise in bread concentrates, baking agents, custard powders and cake mix among others.

Orkla Food Ingredients is a portfolio company of the Norwegian group Orkla, which has 11 portfolio companies.

In July 2024, Orkla Food Ingredients agreed to buy 100% of Freunde der Erfrischung (FDE) from its current owner for an undisclosed amount.
