Sweden-based food and nutrition tracking app Lifesum has partnered with Consupedia, a platform providing food insights, to enhance its food database capabilities.
Consupedia was developed by researchers from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
The collaboration aims to integrate Consupedia’s advanced food data research, a significant step in Lifesum’s commitment to providing comprehensive nutritional information.
The partnership focuses on driving food transparency through AI, making informed food choices more accessible.
By merging Consupedia’s extensive data with Lifesum’s AI-powered nutrition platform, users will gain deeper insights into the nutritional value of their food.
The enriched data supports smarter decision-making and aligns with Lifesum’s mission to promote science-backed, healthier eating habits.
Lifesum co-founder Marcus Gners said: “This partnership reflects our focus on enhancing our data capabilities. As a company dedicated to innovative nutrition and health technology, we’re constantly evolving our platform to better serve our users.
“We’re exploring how Consupedia’s research expertise will complement our platform to offer users additional information when making food choices that align with their personal health goals.”
Lifesum and Consupedia are dedicated to building the world’s most informed and inclusive food database. The initiative combines cutting-edge AI with extensive scientific research.
Over the past decade, Consupedia has worked with KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Dalarna University to develop a research-backed foundation for AI-driven food intelligence.
Lifesum continues to lead in AI-driven, hyper-personalised health solutions.
Its Multimodal Tracker (MMT) employs AI-driven food recognition, such as image scanning and voice input, to offer real-time, personalised nutrition feedback.
Currently, Lifesum incorporates biomarker analysis for enhanced personalisation, following the last year’s acquisition of Lykon, a European biometric company.
Consupedia founder Roberto Rufo Gonzalez said: “We are thrilled to partner with Lifesum to expand access to this crucial data.
“Our team of AI researchers have spent years developing advanced models to assess the environmental, ethical, and health impact of food products.
“By integrating our AI-powered insights with Lifesum’s leading nutrition technology, we’re transforming the way people understand their food.”
