US-based ingredients providers Univar Solutions and Ingredion have expanded their distribution partnership into the food and beverage markets of Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.

The two companies were long-term strategic partners for more than 30 years in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), providing expansive food portfolios for starches, plant-based proteins, and sweeteners.

Under the expanded partnership, Ingredion and Univar will provide a portfolio of advanced modified, organic, and clean-label starches, and plant-based proteins in new territories.

PureCircle, a subsidiary of Ingredion, will also work closely with Univar to deliver stevia flavour modifiers and sweeteners for food manufacturers.

Ingredion offers food ingredients that can be used in a wide range of applications, from bakery and dairy to savoury and beverages.

They are designed to enhance product performance and customer appeal, facilitating reductions in fat and sugar content, along with improvements in texture and cost efficiency.

Foodology by Univar helps food brands of all sizes in tackling product development challenges, from speciality ingredients to recipe testing.

Its network of food Solution Centers and global test kitchens help in-house chefs and food scientists to refresh and develop formulas to enhance the efficacy of products.

Univar and Ingredion collaboration will operate within Univar Solutions’ Global Solutions Centres, including a location in Essen, Germany.

The innovation hubs, staffed by chemists, food scientists, and application development specialists, will help customers solve product challenges, and meet the latest market trends.
