Swedish probiotic company BioGaia has unveiled its BioGaia Gastrus PURE ACTION probiotic supplement, intended to be used by people with sensitive digestive systems.
BioGaia Gastrus PURE ACTION is said to feature a FODMAP-friendly, double-strength formula featuring clean ingredients to support digestive health.
It is aimed to provide an advanced, evidence-based solution to improve gut health and quality of life for adults.
The supplement is the latest addition to BioGaia’s product portfolio in adult gut health.
It is formulated with patented probiotic strains Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 and L. reuteri ATCC PTA 6475.
According to the probiotic company, BioGaia Gastrus PURE ACTION is clinically proven to support digestive health.
This twice-daily dosing supplement helps manage occasional gut discomfort and enhances gastrointestinal well-being.
The vegan-friendly capsules are free from sweeteners, lactose, and gluten, and are certified FODMAP-friendly, making them ideal for sensitive stomachs.

BioGaia said BioGaia Gastrus PURE ACTION has been clinically tested and proven effective in relieving symptoms like abdominal pain, gas, and bloating.
The probiotics in this blend are specifically chosen for their ability to survive the harsh conditions of the digestive system, ensuring they reach the gut alive.
In a recent randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 140 adults aged 18-65 with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) evaluated the product ingredients’ efficacy, confirming its safety and effectiveness in managing digestive issues.
The results revealed that participants using the product experienced a significant reduction in IBS symptoms, with a marked improvement in the GSRS-IBS score from week six onward.
Key symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, and gas showed noticeable relief.
Additionally, those using the supplement reported significantly higher Quality of Life (QoL-IBS) scores compared to the placebo group.
The study also demonstrated that BioGaia Gastrus PURE ACTION helped reduce low-grade gut inflammation.
A subsequent study on the same strain combination suggested it also lowered systemic low-grade inflammation, the Swedish firm added.
BioGaia Gastrus PURE ACTION will first launch in Finland, with availability expanding to other countries soon. In Finland, the product can be found in pharmacies and major online pharmacies.
