Coffee brand happy is launching its ready-to-drink Vanilla, Caramel, and Mocha Lattes, as well as Cold Brew, into 11 Albertsons Companies divisions across 34 states in the US.
Founded by entrepreneur Craig Dubitsky and Robert Downey Jr., Happy has now completed its first year in business.
This expansion into 2,070 locations will support the brand’s rapid growth in the retail market.
Albertsons Companies is a leading food and drug retailer in the US, with over 2,200 stores across 34 states and the District of Columbia.
Its banners include Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen, Carrs, Kings Food Markets, and Balducci’s Food Lovers Market.
happy launched a range of Light, Medium, and Dark blends in ground, whole bean, instant, and K-Cup compatible Happy Pods in July 2024. The brand announced multiple new retailers to expand its wholesale footprint. Just a month later, the brand expanded into ready-to-drink coffee options.
According to the brand, this growth was fuelled by high demand and interest from retail partners seeking convenient, on-the-go coffee.
The partnership with Albertsons enables happy to connect with more audiences.
happy co-founder and CEO Craig Dubitsky said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to bring happy to even more people by partnering with Albertsons.
“So many coffee lovers rely on Albertsons and their incredible roster of beloved banners for the things they need, want and love; meeting those shoppers in their happy place truly makes us smile.”
An integral part of happy’s brand is its partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), a US-based mental health organisation. The company also provides an equity stake to NAMI.
To support mental health awareness, each happy product includes a QR code leading to NAMI’s resources.
With its expansion into Albertsons, happy intends to continue to raise awareness and fight the stigma surrounding mental health.
