This trend has been accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic as the majority of respondents, from 142 countries across the world, said they felt more concerned about the issue than a year ago.
In the UK, only 9.3% of people felt more confident about food safety compared with the previous year. In the US, this figure was 7.6%. In China – post-Covid-19 – the figure was 2.5%.
