Lubrizol has entered a distribution partnership with Palmer Holland to enhance the reach of its microencapsulation technology in the nutraceutical sector across the Northeastern US.

The collaboration aims to address the increasing demand for Lubrizol’s advanced solutions that improve delivery and bioavailability in dietary supplement, food and beverage markets.

The agreement will facilitate the distribution of Lubrizol’s branded nutraceuticals, including microcapsules of calcium, caffeine, curcumin, iron, magnesium, phytosterol, and zinc.

The products, manufactured in Europe, are designed to optimise the effectiveness and enjoyment of nutraceutical products.

Lubrizol regional business senior director Ricardo Pereira said: “Recent clinical and consumer studies have affirmed the benefits of our microencapsulation technology in relation to taste and sensorial profile, along with absorption and bioavailability for our products, LIPOFER and MAGSHAPE.

“We are excited to deliver our innovation to more consumers. Our new partnership with Palmer Holland expands our reach, enabling our customers to create their next generation of innovation.”

Lubrizol, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is engaged in providing speciality chemistry solutions that advance mobility and improve well-being.

With a global presence and over 100 manufacturing facilities, the company continues to deliver sustainable solutions that enhance modern life.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Palmer Holland is a North American distributor specialising in raw materials for various sectors, including health and nutrition.

As an employee-owned company, Palmer Holland offers flexibility and efficient solutions, supported by a network of over 50 account managers across the US and Canada.

Palmer Holland consumer and life sciences vice president Bret Horace said: “Lubrizol’s value proposition and focus on quality align well with Palmer Holland’s mission to source branded ingredients designed to meet the needs of tomorrow.

“With this partnership, we are addressing the needs of our customers by offering a best-in-class solution to assist in the creation of healthier, better-tasting nutraceutical products.”

Earlier this year, Lubrizol announced that its Magshape microcapsules, a microencapsulated source of magnesium, enhance magnesium absorption compared to other sources.

The announcement is based on a study conducted by researchers at Bionos Biotech and Lubrizol Nutraceuticals, published in Nutrients.
