Daring, a developer of a plant-based alternative that replicates chickens, has launched two new vegetarian frozen entrees to expand its frozen product range.
The new product includes Buffalo Mac and Cheese Plant Chicken Bowl and Queso Burrito Plant Chicken Bowl.
These new vegetarian bowls are based on the positive response of Daring’s existing frozen entrée portfolio.
According to Daring, these products cater to the rising flexitarian audience who wants to lower their meat consumption.
In late 2023, the plant-based chicken producer introduced its Better-For-You frozen entrées range, which is said to be faster than takeout and easier than cooking chicken.
The Buffalo Mac and Cheese Plant Chicken Bowl features macaroni and cheese with roasted red peppers and Daring’s spicy Buffalo Wings.
The Queso Burrito Plant Chicken Bowl includes Daring’s Original Pieces, rice, cheddar cheese, roasted red peppers, sweet corn, and black beans.
Both bowls contain dairy cheese and Daring’s vegan Plant Chicken.
Daring’s products are said to have a simple ingredient list, whole muscle texture, and high protein content.
The food company said that each bowl offers over 16g of protein per serving, significant in the vegetarian frozen entree category.
From this month onwards, Daring Vegetarian Plant Chicken Bowls will be available at Albertsons, Target, and Publix stores across the US.
Daring CEO Jeff Gendelman said: “At Daring, our goal is to make the best plant chicken products on the market and to encourage as many people as possible to introduce plant-based meat into their diets.
“We are very excited by the reception of our vegan entrees, but we know that many flexitarian and omnivore consumers are hesitant to try fully vegan options.”
Founded in 2020, Daring aims to remove chicken from the global food system. Its products are said to be available in over 15,000 retail stores, including Whole Foods, Walmart, Albertsons, Target, Sprouts, Publix, and Amazon Fresh.
It’s vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO Plant Chicken Pieces and Wings come in six flavourful varieties.
Additionally, Daring has launched a new line of five Frozen Entrée bowls, including an exclusive collaboration with Fly by Jing.
Last month, Novameat, another producer of plant-based meats, raised €17.4m to further scale production and expand its product range and commercial activities.
