German chemicals company Symrise has set up Digital Immersion Co-Creation Center in Singapore to fuel innovation in the food and beverage development space.
The company opened the facility with the Singapore Economic Development Board, customers, and research institutes. It will leverage market, consumer and sensory insights with new technology to support innovation.
In a statement, Symrise said: “The innovative venture offers cutting-edge digital capabilities to customers and eco-system partners. It marks Symrise’s commitment to redefining the collaborative landscape in food and beverage development and innovation.
“This represents the next step in strengthening its taste, nutrition and health expertise in the Asia-Pacific region.”
The centre is equipped with a high-tech and digitally-enabled purpose-built space. It features floor-to-ceiling interactive touch screens along with customisable meeting and discussion areas.
The participants can access interactive capabilities for simultaneous collaboration.
The Singapore centre also features Symvision AITM, a prediction tool for flavours, ingredients and claims.
There are also social listening tools and predictive models to gain valuable insights.
According to Symrise, the immersive projection system will support a multi-sensorial and expedited approach for prototype development, evaluation and validation.
Symrise focuses on supplying fragrances, flavourings, cosmetic active ingredients, and raw materials, as well as functional ingredients. It caters to perfumes, cosmetics, food and beverage markets, as well as to the pharmaceutical industry, nutritional supplements and pet food manufacturers.
In the 2023 fiscal year, the company recorded sales of approximately €4.7bn.
Last month, Symrise has introduced a naturally derived deodorising ingredient called SymDeo PMD green for cosmetic use against strong body odours.
