Taylor Farms and Foodiverse have finalised the acquisition of two manufacturing plants producing ready-to-eat salads in Germany from Bonduelle’s fresh business.
The acquisition, led by Foodiverse’s European operations, aims to enhance their market position in Germany and drive innovation in the fresh and healthy food sector.
Foodiverse’s Thurländer Salate plant, which produces ready-to-eat salads, will immediately start operating under the Greenfresh brand, alongside Straelen and Reutlingen sites in Germany.
Taylor Farms chairman and CEO Bruce Taylor said: “By making this strategic acquisition, our goal is to enhance the fresh packaged salad sector and ensure our customers receive innovative and healthy products.
“We look forward to serving customers in Germany and across Europe.”
Based in Salinas, California, Taylor Farms is a North American producer of salads and fresh foods, with facilities across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Foodiverse specialises in fresh and healthy foods with operations in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland.
Its products, including fresh salads and vegetable snacks, are distributed across Europe under private labels and its brands Freshkia and Sun&Vegs.
The acquisition expands Foodiverse’s global workforce to 2,650 employees, with nine production plants and 2,700ha of managed farmland.
It would expand the company’s capacity to offer nutritious, high-quality products.
Through a gradual integration process supported by an international Foodiverse team, the acquisition would ensure workforce stability and a seamless transition.
Foodiverse president Joaquín Ballester said: “The integration of these two plants into our group reinforces our commitment to growth in the healthy food sector.
“The combination of experience, top talent and our great capacity for innovation will allow us to continue to lead the fresh food sector and offer the best service to our customers throughout Europe.”
