US-based Whole Moon has launched its new line of plant-based beverages, designed to deliver a creamy taste and whole protein through its unique whole ingredient process.
The new plant-based beverages, offered in three flavours, almond, oat, and pistachio, provide a high-quality alternative to the currently available thin, watery milk substitutes.
Whole Moon said its unique whole ingredient process blends whole-roasted almonds, oats, pistachios, and soybeans, to provide a rich, nutty flavour and a full-bodied texture.
The use of whole ingredients will significantly reduce waste and provide better nutrition from naturally occurring protein, fibre, and essential nutrients, said the company.
Whole Moon president Susan Knight said: “Our Whole Moon beverages were designed for people who want a plant-based option without sacrificing taste or nutrition.
“Consumers are looking for drinks with outstanding flavour along with top-notch nutritional benefits and Whole Moon delivers. We are finding that Whole Moon tastes so delicious that people want to drink it by the glass.”
Whole Moon said its new beverages provide a complete protein source and contain all nine essential amino acids naturally derived from legumes, nuts, and grains.
The products are low in sugar, kosher, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO Project Verified, with no added oils or artificial flavourings, said the company.
According to Whole Moon, food companies make plant beverages by adding raw ingredients to hot water, mashing them up, extracting the liquid, and discarding the rest.
The company’s unique approach uses whole ingredients, such as whole oats, whole almonds, and whole pistachios, mixed with Whole Protein derived from roasted soybeans.
Its plant-based beverages prioritise taste, whole nutrition, and sustainability, said Whole Moon.
