Nacka (Sweden), January 2024 – AstaReal, global pioneer in production and research of natural algal astaxanthin, has launched a rebranded version of its finished formulation Astaxin® for consumers in Sweden and Norway. In addition to online stores and health food stores, the supplement is also now available in selected pharmacies.
The proven formula of Astaxin® – now with a new minimalist Nordic product design – combines microalgae-based astaxanthin with vitamins C and E. It is delivered in gelatin capsules in two different product sizes (60 and 120 capsules). With a recommended intake of one to two capsules daily, the supplement provides cell protection and supports an active and healthy lifestyle. Vitamin C and E protect cells against oxidative stress, which is validated by the health claim on the package. Additionally, vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and reduces fatigue and exhaustion. Each capsule also contains 4 mg of astaxanthin for additional health support.
AstaReal launched Astaxin® Original nearly 30 years ago as the first human dietary supplement containing a natural source of astaxanthin. With the rebranding, the Swedish astaxanthin pioneer has given a luxurious new feel to its well-established product. Nutraceutical companies got a first glance of Astaxin® at AstaReal’s booth at Fi Europe in Frankfurt at the end of 2023. Furthermore, the company plans to launch a vegan version of Astaxin® for the European market in the near future, following its launch in China.
Peter Ahlm, Head of Marketing & Sales at AstaReal, explains: “Astaxin® plays a key role in our mission to support the health of humans and wellbeing of the planet. Alongside our finished formulations for the retail market, we offer various bulk products of astaxanthin, all derived from sustainably cultivated microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. AstaReal® astaxanthin is one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants with scientifically proven health benefits. The ingredient is highly future-proof, as it matches consumer demand for natural sustainable, and plant-based ingredients.”
